Welcome to the Bungendore Riding ClubBRC is a fun, social and educational adult riding club providing a range of experiences to riders and horses of all levels of ability. Rider’s background vary from beginners, ex-pony clubbers; to adults returning to riding and adults who compete in Open Events regularly. Our members have different Equine interests ranging from Dressage, Jumping and Horse Trials/Eventing; to Trail, Endurance and Pleasure.
BRC holds an Activity Day once a month each year and provides the opportunity to participate in a range of equine activities. The Activity Days are organised and coordinated by the BRC committee, made up of volunteers who share a similar vision for the administration and future of the club.
BRC Training days are mostly held at Bungendore Show Ground and usually involve 3 x group lessons in the morning and 3 x group lessons in the afternoon. You nominate the group suited to your Level/horse/rider combination, that is - Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced; so that you can gain full benefit of the instruction at your level. We organise qualified local and visiting instructors to instruct members in an informal, fun and relaxed environment - and No! you don't need to wash your horse before coming to an Activity/Training day!! Dress is "Casual" and we do have a range of Club clothing for those members wishing to purchase, but it is not compulsory!!
Instruction/lessons are mainly in the following disciplines: Combined Training - Dressage and Show Jumping Eventing - Show jumping and Cross Country Jumping Hacking - Flat work and Show preparation Sporting/Mounted Games - barrel, flag, bending etc
Trail Rides - BRC also conducts fun/social Day and Overnight Trail rides in between the Training Days; locally or away in lovely settings such as the Southern Highlands or Snowy Mountains.
Competitions - BRC endeavors to inform Members of potential local Competitions to enter. Often Members arrange to meet at the comp for a cuppa and to watch and support each other while competing. BRC also holds it's own competition, a One Day Event annually in October.
STARCC - meaning "Southern Tablelands Adult Riding Clubs Competition" is an inter-club competition between the local adult riding clubs - Murrumbateman (MARC), Tuggerangong (TARC) and Bungendore (BRC). The Event caters for various disciplines including: Hacking, Dressage, Showjumping and Sporting. Points are awarded and a perpetual trophy is up for grabs! The inaugural (first) STARCC was held in June 2008.
Demonstrations - The club also occasionally arranges demonstrations from qualified people in the horse industry including: float loading, hoof health, dressage, horse dentistry and horse well being.
BRC has a friendly atmosphere to it and Members get together for a BBQ and chat during lunch on Training/Activity Days; and occasionally Social outings are also organised (without our four legged friends)
