Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 27^th March 2021, C R Kelly Cup 700 Yards.

          The start of the C R Kelly Cup was held on Saturday with some welcome sunshine and little cloud cover as the mostly north westerly breeze continually changed direction and strength to raise the level of difficulty and keep scores lower than average for the day.

          Target Rifle shooter Graeme Bright got off to an early lead handling the conditions best to stay in front of the group followed by Steve Williams next up three points away. John Coghill had a slow start but did well later on to finish next down followed by Ron Gibson just one more point away with Dennis Lavelle trailing after getting blown far and wide later in the day.

          F Class shooters Graham Willis and Jeff Eppleston went head to head for top spot with Graham leading the way with a three super centre lead. Geoff Willis and Nick Webster finished three points away from the leaders separated by one super centre with new shooter Khoby West-Kennett having a great second stage to finish just four super centres ahead of Col Howell who suffered a rough patch during his second stage. Phil Mahon followed one more point down and one point ahead of new shooter Charlie Bennett who also improved during his second stage as he learns more of the discipline. Auskir Berryman struggled with the conditions early during his first stage losing points to the direction changes and drops in wind strength.

          Another round of the Treasurers Trophy was held on Saturday with Nick Webster, John Coghill and Phil Mahon all scoring maximum handicap points towards the trophy on the day.

          Saturday April 10^th shooting continues from 800 yards in the second round of the C R Kelly Cup.
