Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 1^th February 2023, F A Wilde Trophy 500 yards.

          Saturday saw the second round of the F A Wilde Trophy from 500 yards held in very hot weather with a strong north westerly wind that continually varied in strength and direction during the afternoon, although with the reduced number of shooters to that of the previous week all shooters were pleased to finish early for the day due to the hot weather.

          Graeme Bright coped well and after losing a couple of points during his first stage he managed to go clean in the second to lead the Target Rifle class shooters with John Coghill next up followed closely by Ron Gibson.

          Col Howell has regained his old form after his new rifle build was completed recently and is again showing the F Class shooters how to do it at the shorter ranges, after losing two points in his first stage he then went clean until losing a point on his last shot, but this effort kept him four points clear of next best Geoff Willis with Phil Mahon just one more point down followed by Mal Wright and Dave Butler who were also separated by a point.

          Next week will be the final round of the F A Wilde Trophy from 600 yards.
