Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 23rd March 2024, 700 yards, Series 3 Match 10. 

          Shooters again enjoyed a day with some cloud cover providing great weather to be shooting the final 700 yards match of Series 3 with a light westerly breeze that was variable at times to give some shooters cause for consideration between shots. Almost half the shooters scored to their range handicap on the day with two visiting shooters again trying out long range target shooting.

          Graeme Bright top scored the Target Rifle shooters for the afternoon finishing with a one point advantage over Steve Williams who found the going a bit harder later in the day, John Coghill followed next after a slow start with his first stage results. Sporter Class shooter James Clarke continued his impressive shooting to not lose a point for the third week in a row with Dennis Lavelle next in the class with a better second stage score. Visiting shooter Dom Holles tried out his new rifle for the first time at long range but was restricted by the hunting ammunition he had available.

          F Class Standard shooter Jeff Eppleston topped the class starting with a possible that was just one super centre away from the perfect score with Dave Butler next and back on track with much better results. Col Howell finished next just ahead of Phil Mahon with both shooters likely experiencing some of the more difficult conditions during the afternoon. F Open shooter Geoff Willis had consistent results for the day to lead the class over Mal Wright with Garry Cafe next just ahead of Ben Wright. Ben Hawkey again tried out long range shooting doing well at holding a good waterline during his first stage with Garry Cafe coaching.

          Shooting will resume on Saturday 6^th April at 800 yards after a break over the Easter weekend.
