Weekly Review 27/04/2024
Bathurst Rifle Club Inc., 27th April 2024, 7/800 yards, Series 4 Match 1/2.
The final Series 4 Matches commenced with Match 1 from 700 yards on the 20th April and then Match 2 from 800 yards held last Saturday the 27th April.
The 700 yards Match 1 event saw Graeme Bright lead the Target Rifle shooters with Dennis Lavelle shooting Sporter Class. Col Howell topped the F Class Standard field while Garry Cafe blitzed the F Open group with his new rifle.
The 800 yards Match 2 event saw the flags mostly hanging to the side of the poles with only an occasional breeze from the west to lift them a little more than the mostly slight movement from either side that was perhaps observed better with the mirage seen through a telescope.
Target Rifle shooter John Coghill was again the only shooter in his class and added to his yearly aggregate without competition. Sporter Class shooter James Clarke starter well dropping one point in his first stage but an errant shot during his second lost three more points.
F Standard shooter Col Howell had outstanding results to lead the class losing just one point during each stage as he accumulated twelve super centres to finish ahead of Phil Mahon and Dave Butler who were separated by just one super centre. Mal Wright topped the F Open class with a great possible scored during his second stage to keep Geoff Willis in second place for the day.
Next Saturday we move back to 900 yards for Match 3 of the series.
